Children can become trapped in faulty drop-side cribs. (Consumer Product Safety Commission)

WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) Parents are scrambling to make sure
their children are safe as the government has issued a recall for 2
million cribs that could be dangerous.

The companies involved in
the recall are Evenflo, Delta Enterprises Corp., Child Craft, Jardine
Enterprises, LaJobi, Million Dollar Baby and Simmons Juvenile Products
Inc.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said
most of the recalled cribs have a drop-side, in which the side rail
moves up and down to make lifting a child easier. That part can
malfunction, leaving a gap where babies' heads can become trapped,
which can lead to suffocation or strangulation. Two of the recalled
models did not have this feature.
